New State-of-the-Art Equipment Advances Treatment for Patients

Within the last year, Wahiawa General Hospital has added brand new state-of-the-art Arthroscopy and Endoscopy equipment to enhance treatment in these areas.

Some of the new Arthroscopic additions include state-of-the-art cameras, monitors, fixing rotators that may prevent some patients from having to undergo major surgery, and new types of shavers.

The brand new Endoscopy videoscopes will allow not only the physician but also their assistants to monitor what's going on during a procedure. "This will allow the assistant to better aid the tending physician so that the procedure can go smoothly while keeping the patient comfortable," according to Pat Gregor, Unit Manager. The videoscopes also have the built-in capacity to print pictures for the patients after the procedure.
